Clodagh's winter essentials.

Hello everybody!
One half of your dynamic duo here!
So on this dark and dreary day, I-along with the majority of you- am facing the inevitability of more dull skies and rain until May at the earliest.
Oh the joys of living in the UK.
But, no worries my friends, as I am here with my winter essentials to help get you through and transition us into spring!

LIPS-
Okay, as we all know, winter is not our lips friends. They do not like each other. Sadly, we are caught in the crossfire of that, and no one wants dry lips, do they?

My lifesaver (or should that be lip saver?) this winter has been a combination of these two things.

This bad boy smells divine, and does its job. Just try not to lick it off your lips, I dare you! Scrub gently onto your lips in tiny circles, and afterwards-if your lips are being stubborn- take your toothbrush, wet it, and press carefully on your lips, and bye bye dry lips!

Now, some people have a love hate relationship with the Babylips- I happen to be on the love side of the spectrum for two of the three babylips I have tried! My personal favourite has to be 'Cherry me'-I'm a sucker for cherry flavoured or scented things. Slap this on your lips after scrubbing and boom- smooth lips! This is also a great red lip alternative for those who are terrified!

Speaking of red lips....oh, don't run away on me now! I know they seem terrifying, but fear not- there is a shade for everyone! Personally, with pale skin and dark hair, blue reds suit me more than brown reds-but it's all about experimentation! It takes time to find the perfect red for you- I'm still on the hunt, but my favourite for the winter has definitely got to be Rimmel Kate Moss 107. The ultimate dark red lip, and cheap as chips too- bonus!

Now, if red lips aren't your thing-I like them, but I'm a berry girl at heart. So of course, I had to add my favourites!
As soon as this appeared in my stocking at Christmas, it was love at first sight. A berry colour that's an enigma- red in some lights, fuchsia in others, gorgeous in all. This, ladies and gentlemen, is MAC 'Craving.'

For eyes, Revlon and Rimmel have been hitting it out of the park for me, with gorgeous shades for any occasion. Somehow, Revlon has made me love....purple eye shadow?? Its gorgeous taupe lilac, eggplant purple, silver and charcoal shades can make your knees go weak. Here is my palette of choice, Revlon colourstay quad in 'Siren'.

If you're like me-colour is reserved for lips, blush and clothes- and are strictly a nude/brown/gold gal, maybe you should take a dander to the drugstore and take a look at these paletes! The first is Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad in Smokey Brown, a beautiful collection of golden brown hues.

The second- yet another Rimmel palette! This one is new, and boy is it beautiful- filled with coppery shades, I'm in love with the olive coloured one for the lower lashline to add a pop of colour! This baby is Rimmel Glam'eyes HD 5 pan palette in 'Brixton Brown.'

As it's winter and it's dry skin galore, my foundation of choice has to be L'OReal Dream Lumi. Ahhh the glow and coverage it offers. Perfection. It's great for dry skin, especially when used with my trusty Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge!

To complete our winter face, I like to add a dash of berry toned blush, to give to give that 'oh, I've just been out in the cold!' look. You really have just been out in the cold, but this looks much prettier. My blush of choice has to be Revlon matte blush in 'Blushing Berry'.

Obviously I use other products in my routine- eyeliner, mascara, etc. But the products I have selected to show to you are-to my mind- perfect especially for winter, and these are my essentials!
EXTRA ESSENTIALS- Onesies, cosy socks, and tea. Of course, Netflix doesn't hurt either.

I hope you all enjoyed hearing my winter essentials, and I'd love to hear yours!

Peace, love and cupcakes,
Clodagh x
