Gelish nails review!

Hey guys, Clodagh here!
I'm sorry I've been gone so long, it feels like it's been ages since I've sat down and wrote a blog post!
So I haven't had internet for the past few weeks. so that's why I've been MIA!

Anyway, as some of you may know, we had our formal on Tuesday. To mark the occasion, I ventured into the magical land of gel nail polishes and honey-I'm never going back.

Let us get something out in the open.
I, a beauty blogger, SUCK AT NAILS.
I can't paint them.
I can't do upkeep.
I have them smudged within five minutes, I chip them within the day, even when being really careful.
I'm really harsh on nails, and we have a no nail polish rule at our school, so I just don't bother.

That picture above? That was taken on Sunday. The nails were put on the previous Monday. No chips, no smudges, no lumps or bumps. They're as perfect as the day they were put on. They dry instantly, which is handy, so no waiting around for twenty minutes at a nail salon. They are perfect for people that can't keep nail polish on for a day, like me. It's a bit pricer than getting normal nail polish on,(I got it as part of a deal, but at the same day spa it costs £20.50, and £3 for glitter) but it's completely worth it, in my opinion. Not the sort of thing you top up every two weeks, but it's great for occasions. I would definitely get gel nails again. I'm so in love with them, I'm refusing to take them off when teachers ask.

Incase you're wondering, the colours I got were 'A Mint of Spring' with 'June Bride' on my ring finger on each hand. (Thanks for the idea, Pinterest!) The girls at the spa loved it so much they were suggesting it to other people! Trendsetter? Moi? It would appear so!

So, let me know-have you ever tried gel nails? What did you think?

Peace, Love and cupcakes,
Clodagh xx

Romantic Valentines Day Makeup-Using The Naked 3 Palette

Sorry guys I've been trying to upload a video tutorial for days now but its just not working so I decided I'll do a step by step guide on here.-Geraldine

Face
First prep and prime with your normal products which cater to your skin needs.
Then I recommend you take a lightweight dewy foundation just to give your skin that beautiful glow, my favourite is the Bourjois healthy mix and buff all over the skin with a brush or sponge.
Conceal any imperfections with your favourite concealer and seal the deal with powder.
Bronze your face to warm your complexion and to add definition by contouring but you can skip this if you want to keep it simple.
Then pop a hint of colour of blush just above the apples of your cheeks to give the appearance of healthy skin.
Don't forget to fill in those brows.

Eyes
The naked 3 palette is absolutely beautiful and you can expect a detailed review up shortly, the rose golds make it perfect for valentines day.
First prime your lids this helps colours appear brighter and last longer. Its a must!

Then take the colour buzz and apply it all over the lid up to the crease.

Then take nooner a nice matte shade and blend through the crease.
To deepen the look take the colour factory and place on your outer v and take underneath the bottom lash line.

Apply generous amounts of your favourite mascara mine is maybelline the rocket.

To finish the look apply a pink lipstick e.g oxford fuschia by Rimmel and your done!

Valentines Day Outfit Ideas

Valentines day is nearly upon us amd it doesn't matter if your single and ready to mingle as Clodagh has a look for you!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Hey guys sorry its been a while, unfortunately we will no longer be following a schedule,  we do promise to keep updating regularly but our blog and youtube was feeling more of a chore in our already busy lives and we weren't experiencing the fun and enjoyment from it that we intended. But let's move onto what you really want to see which is the review.
The Rimmel wake me up foundation is very popular amongst the beauty community receiving great praise from youtubers such as Tanya Burr and Zoella. Sadly I was disappointed.

The Positives
The packaging is great its a glass bottle with a pump (what more could you ask for?)

The fantastic shade range ( for pale girls like me you won't struggle to find a shade I assure you)

The price ( it currently retails for £8.99 on the boots website which Is very reasonable for a foundation)

The Negatives
It broke me out like a bitch! ( pardon my language but my face turned into spot city after wearing this for only two days and with an important event only days away I'm not one bit happy. I've had similarly problems with rimmel foundations in the past so ill stay clear from them in the future)

It's cakes! (I have dry skin and I most definitely do not need a foundation highlighting this to the rest of the world this clings to your dry patches like noting ordinary)

The coverage is not as good as I would like. ( I'd say it has a light to medium coverage I personally prefer a medium buildable foundation)

Lasting power is average not great not terrible. I'm still at school that means I have my makeup on from 7 in the morning to 5 in the evening yes I know that's a tall order put this foundation seemed to disappear from my chin and nose before midday and yet in other places it was fine. Weird!

Other points to note
This foundation contains glitter for some it has no visible effect and for others it's like your face is a glitter ball I personally had no problems yes there was glitter but it wasnt noticeable, so remember to consider this.

So there you have my very honest review of the wake me up foundation I may give it another chance in the future if my skin becomes less sensitive to break outs as I hate wasting product but sadly I don't think it's for me. -Geraldine

Clodagh's guide to happiness!

Right, here it is, Clodagh’s guide to happiness! This is unedited, so it's probably all over the place. But here are my tips, tricks, ideas and thoughts that are tried and tested methods of being happy!
Disclaimer/note-These are things that I do, or I suggest my friends do. It works on me and them, but there may be some you want to change slightly to adapt to you, or something.
Right, shall we crack on then?
Tip number one-Make a list of all the things that you are good at. It can be anything, from touching your nose with your tongue, to making a cracking cup of tea, or painting like Degas, whatever you're good at. Then when you're feeling sad- read it! Instant happiness.
Tip number two-drink tea. Or milk, or coffee, or hot chocolate. Something warm, it makes you feel cozy, and cozy=happy.
Tip three-accept what is wrong with your life. Accept the bad things, and then think 'okay. I can either wallow in misery and self pity/hatred for the rest of your life, or you can accept it, or also see the positive in your life.’
Tip four-when it rains, don't run indoors. Take your time, and savour it. But don't stay out in it too long, you'll catch a cold, and that will make you sad.
Tip five-Have me time. (Nom I don't mean designated time for worshipping me.:p) Take a few hours and pamper yourself. Do something you want. Listen to music, paint your nails, draw, read, play a game. Do something that makes you happy, but preferably that takes a bit of concentration, so it doesn't just become monotonous. (I don't suggest TV or a movie)

Tip six-Change your thinking. If you think negatively all the time, you will spend more and more time miserable, and you'll forget how to be happy. Change your way of thinking-be positive. Bad times don't last forever. Keep your head up.
Tip seven-Have a movie night. With your family, with friends, by yourself, it's up to you. Any kind except sad. That's for the next tip.
Tip eight-let yourself be sad. This sounds weird, but, it works. Something bad happens, you have a terrible day, your relationship ends, whatever. Get some ice cream and chocolate, wrap yourself in a duvet, grab the tissues, get a horrifyingly sad book and movie, and cry. That's right, cry. Let it all out. BUT-and here's the trick-only for the length of that movie are you allowed to have your pity party. An hour and a half is all you have. After that, get back to your life, face the day.
Tip nine-Keep a book full of inspirational quotes, ticket stubs, postcards, things that remind you of happy times. Read it when you're sad.
Tip ten-Look at pictures of kittens. Just google cute kittens. Just-yes. No explanation needed.

Tip eleven-Be yourself. Pretending to be someone you're not makes you miserable. Be truth to yourself, stick to your morals, and-
Tip twelve-don't change yourself for others! Unless, you know, you're a complete asshole or something. Then you can change and try and be a better person. But if you're trying to change to fit in, or make someone like you-don't bother. They're obviously not worth your time anyway.
Tip thirteen-Make friends with an old person. They're so sweet, and full of stories of their lives. They can have a lot of wisdom, and talking to them can brighten their day too.
Tip fourteen-be kind to others, and do something nice. Making others happy and making them smile increases your chance of happiness.
Tip fifteen-treat yourself occasionally. Don't indulge all the time, though, or it won't feel like a treat.

Tip sixteen-surround yourself with inspirational quotes. Put some on your wall, write them on post it notes and put them around your room, create a board on pinterest, check back here daily.(I post a daily inspirational quote)
Tip seventeen-enjoy life. Enjoy the little things.
Tip seventeen-Don't be overly sensitive. Sometimes we get overly sensitive to tiny, tiny things-let them go. Sometimes, things happen. Don't fight against everything.
Tip eighteen-If you have negative voices in your head telling you you aren't good enough, or saying negative things, shut them up. They are lying.
Tip nineteen-Be laid back. Don't take everything to heart or be serious all the time. Let go sometimes.
Tip twenty-Realise that you can't control everything. Whatever will be, will be. Your here for life, you might as well enjoy it.

And that is it! Those are tips! This was my guide to happiness! I hope it gave you some ideas to try out!
Do you have a guide to happiness? What keeps you happy?

Match Perfection Foundation and concealer review!

Clodagh here, with a duo review for you all!
A few posts ago, I talked about a foundation and concealer I got-Rimmel Match Perfection. Here I am, to tell you-I think I'm in love.
Now, I'm a girl that doesn't love all the coverage. I like being able to see my skin. This foundation is perfect for that, as it's ridiculously lightweight, yet it has decent coverage. Also, can we just take a moment to talk about the shade range? I am the palest of the pale. Like, snowball pale. No foundation has been the right shade for me. Except this one. It is a PERFECT match for my skin, so much it doesn't look like I'm wearing anything.
It covers up my redness, but it doesn't cover the nasty spots I have at the minute. (My skin is going particularly crazy due to stress.) Enter the Match Perfection concealer. Now, the shade range of the concealer is poor, as there are only three shades, but it's the same with the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I know I would definitely be the lightest shade, but it wasn't available. Curious, I tested the medium shade on my wrist, and though it was slightly darker and more orange toned than the foundation, after a few seconds it had blended into my skin's natural colour. I snapped it up as well, and can I say-get this on your under eyes, stat. I haven't found anything that leaves my eyes as awake looking, with no dark circles, with so little product! Spots, well that's another story. No matter the concealer or foundation, I seem to have the spots that refuse to be covered. This does a very good job though, not caking at all, and covering them all.

On another note, the packaging of both are FABULOUS. The foundation is a plastic bottle, and it has a pump. And not a pump that's pretty much useless and pumps way too much onto your hand, either. And the concealer is a squeezable tube with the brush applicator, which I love.

Over all, I would definitely purchase both again, and I give the foundation a 9/10, and the concealer an 8/10.

Have you tried them? Did you like them? What are your best foundation and concealers?

Peace, love and cupcakes,
Clodagh xxxx

Babyliss Big Hair Review and Demo

Hey there sailors ( p.s I'm hyper as I just ate a bunch of oreos so if I start writing gibberish that's why!) today I have an interesting review for you, its interesting as its a hair product and if you read my procrastinating beauty blogger tag you know I neglect my hair. So what is it I hear you ask?....Well its my babyliss big hair!   This is another product I received at Christmas (yes I was spoilt rotten) and I must say I love it!

Babyliss big hair is a rotating brush and blow dryer in one, its great for getting those salon blow drys at home without the hassle of juggling a brush and blow dryer, and it currently retails in superdrug for £44.99. As my hair is fine it works perfectly and is pretty simple to use, it takes me no more than 10 minutes to get the hair I want while it also produces more volume than I'm used to. I also have short hair(not a bob any more but not much longer) so getting my hair to turn in the way I want it is really important so I was so happy to discover this product as with the press of two buttons my hair is perfect and ready to go!. It does claim to reduce frizz, my hair is usually frizzy no matter how I dry it I do not think it reduced the frizz but I also don't think it made it any worse so it definitely wouldn't stop me from buying it. I give this product a ten out of ten I absolutely couldn't live without it now!
Tip: When drying the top layer of your hair lift the start up then dry as this creates volume and avoids any unevenness.
Warning: Always remember to use heat protection it will really help your hair in the long run.

Here is the demo!

What are your opinions on babyliss big hair? Let me know!-GM

This or That Tag

Clodagh just did the this or that tag, I really like it, I think I might do it soon!

How To Deal With Bullies/Haters

We all get it. No matter who we are, how nice we are, or what we do. There will always be someone trying to get us down with horrid words or actions, it could be whispers behind your back, upfront insults or anonymous hate on social media, they are all horrible to receive and can make you feel very uncomfortable in yourself and could cause you to lose your self confidence.
The first thing I wanted to tackle is the question; Why do people hate? and I believe it is because of one or more of these reasons

  1. Jealousy
They simply want what you have and because they cant get it they act out against you.

    2. Lack of Knowledge or Understanding
'
Humans are naturally scared of what they don't know, if you don't fit into what a person calls normal they may mock you and make you feel that its not ok to be yourself but always remember to stay true to you and don't feel the need to follow the crowd.

    3.Gang Mentality

Have you ever noticed how people can be so nice when there by themselves but once their friends show up they turn into completely different people? In a large group people act differently because of peer pressure or  simply because they think they can get away with it as there is more than just one doing it, the same goes for social media and cyber bullies, they think cause they no one can see them that its ok but its never ok.

  4. To Make Themselves Feel Better

I think this is one of the main reasons why people hate on others, we all go through bad times some more than others and when were not feeling good about ourselves we strike out at others even though its not their fault.

For me personally there are four ways to prevent/deal with hate
1.Avoid-I know there is no way you can avoid hate/bullies completely however you can minimize the chance by avoiding sites where people can comment anonymously such as askfm etc..
2.Ignore-For some this is easy, some people have a naturally think skin but others like myself will find this difficult but to be honest you should ignore it they mean nothing and the hate means nothing.
3.Talk about it-Don't go through it by yourself talk to people you trust such as a close friend or relative don't let it all build up inside or it will end badly.
4.Report it- if it gets bad and lets say your still in school and have to deal with it everyday don't let them get away with it.
5.Stand up for yourself-sometimes this is all it takes for it to stop and im not saying you should sink to their level but know that sometimes telling them to f*** off is all it takes

We should all remember that we can all hate sometimes so before you say something think
is it nice?
is it constructive?
would you like it said to you?
why am I saying it?

How do you guys deal with it?
Lots of love Geraldine

What's in Clodagh's bag!

Hey guys, Clodagh here!
I have a post for all you nosey people-like me- out there.
A WHAT'S IN MY HANDBAG POST!
I know. The nosey buggers heaven.
Being someone who has the tendency to carry everything but the kitchen sink in her handbag, I tried to clear it out and these are what I found in it today! Note-my kindle is missing because it wasn't in my bag at the time!

Now, my glorious bag is from Steve Madden, I am incredibly lucky to have it-it's my baby, my pride and joy! One can never have too many handbags, but this one successfully converted me into a one handbag kind of girl. It's perfect for everything, except going out at night or if you need a really long cross-body bag! It does have a longer strap, which is the one I use.

Onto the content!

The box of tissues are not in my bag. Begone, tissues!
A pink and green bobble hat from Tesco's, to keep my ears warm and to make sure my hair doesn't go crazy!
A bottle of water-A GURL GOTTA STAY HYDRATED.
A book-This is the one I'm about to start, Charlaine Harris 'A touch of dead'-a bunch of Sookie Stackhouse short stories! I haven't read any of the True Blood books, but this'll get me started!
Gift cards from Waterstone's- I still have £3 on them! IT'LL BUY ME HALF A BOOK.
Impulse mini spray in Loving Words- It has a violet and Raspberry scent! I'm guaranteed to have one-or three-of these lying around.

Bobby pins-I always get annoyed when I have hair in my face, and I lose these things like crazy!
Jo Malone perfume in White Jasmine and Mint-easily the most luxurious thing I own, it smells divine.
HTC Sensational-My much loved, very cracked phone.
A pen-You never know when you have to write down ideas! The notebook I use is in my school bag at the minute!
IPod-Generation 3, or something very old like that. I've had it since I was thirteen, and it's still going strong, without a problem.
The clear plastic thing-My house key. That's a massive card holder or something, but it makes my key easy to find!

Last batch, guys!
WE HAVE....
MAC Craving-My favourite lipstick!
Maybelline Super Stay 14hr lipstick in 'Persistently Pink'
Rimmel Moisture renew lipstick in 'As you want Victoria'
MUA Sheerfinish lipgloss in 'Happy Days'-A clear/peach lipgloss, good to just swipe on when on the go!
Yves Rocher Noix de Coco De Malaisie, Malaysian coconut-Phew, that's a mouthful! I picked it up in Rome, and it's heavenly!

That concludes what is in my bag! I hope you enjoyed taking a mosey around the contents of it, not the most interesting of items, but I have tried to cut it down.

What's in your handbag? Any essentials I don't have?

Peace, love and cupcakes,
Clodagh xxxx

Acne Accutane and Angst-Erin's Experience

Me and Erin form beautywithbarbie got together and filmed a couple of videos together, she willing bared her skin to let you see her acne and also shared her experiences with accutane so I hope it gives you some valuable info :) -GM

A cheeky little haul!

Clodagh here, to inform you of what you already know.
Beauty bloggers are the worst enablers.
I didn't quite realise this until I was in town with friends and like the three make-up musketeers we are, we proceeded to buy all of Superdrug.
I blame them, they blame me, it's an endless cycle.
My excuse is you guys. You need to see stuff on my face and I can't use the same things all the time, right?
Right?
No?
I can feel my excuses wearing thin.
On to the haul.

I did the deed.
The dirty, make-up buying deed.
But it's okay, some of it I needed-some of it was cheap as chips-and well, I needed all those eyeshadows in my life!

Rimmel Glam eyes quad in Sun Safari- What can I say, I'm a sucker for bronzey coppery peach. Only £1 in Poundland! Get yourself down their, they have a little bit of Rimmel makeup if you dig!

NYC individual eyes Custom compact for Green eyes. This was picked up under the recommendation of my friend Erin, who is also a beauty blogger- 'beautywithbarbie.blogspot.com' -and I fell in love with that aubergine. More to come on this!

Swatches of the NYC palette, alongside Bourjois Kohl and Contour pencil in 'Prune Moderne'. A pretty purple liner that I can't wait to use a a pop of colour on my bottom lash line!

MUA Baked eyeshadow trio in 'innocence'-it looks disgusting because I used it, by the way! These are a gorgeous collection of taupey browns, with amazing pigmentation for the price!

B. eyeshadow in 'Elfin'. As soon as I spied this, I heard the word 'woodwinked, woodwinked, woodwinked'! over and over in my head until I found this baby in my basket. Is it a dupe? We'll see.

MUA Undress your skin Shimmer highlighter- My friend took this luminescent beauty out of her makeup bag, and I immediately grabbed it and knew-it would be mine. The shimmer. IT LOOKS LIKE MOONBEAM IN A PAN. And it was £3. Can you find fault? I can't.

Collection Smokey eyes palette in 'Blue.' I am determined to not be terrified of blue eyeshadow anymore. (I had a stage. It was bad. I don't want to talk about it.) The gorgeous navy's and silvers of this palette will help me get over that. I think.

Rimmel Glam eyes quad in 'Green Sapphire'. Oooooh these greens. The forest green, the moss green, the grass green. I can't wait to do a look with this! I already have one in mind.....

Rimmel Moisture Renew in 'As you want Victoria'. Surprise, surprise. Clodagh bought another berry lipstick. BUT this one is more fuchsia! Perfect for Valentine's day!

Bourjois Poudre de Riz de Java. This is one of Bourjois' original products, that was brought back for their 150th anniversary. (Can you say wow?) It's apparently a dupe for Hourglass Ambient lighting powder. It sets your foundation, but doesn't completely dull your face. I can't wait to try it!
I ran out of my beloved L'OREAL Dream Lumi foundation (sob!) and decided to be adventurous and try out a different one. I've already tried out two Revlon, three L'OREAL, a Maybelline and a Bourjois. Rimmel, I am coming for you. So I picked up the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation AND concealer, as I ran out! Can I just say this is the silkiest feeling foundation I have EVER swatched. It blended ridiculously easily, and the shade-010 Light porcelain- is a dead on match for my skin. Match Perfection indeed.
This is the companion concealer, which I decided to pick up on my quest for finding a concealer that works. There are three shades, and the lightest was sold out. So we'll see if this matches okay to my skin, but like the foundation, it's easily blended! It has the squeeze-y brush applicator that I love too.

Rimmel Wake me up Instant radiance Shimmer Touch in 002 Radiant Rose. This was another find in Poundland, and I haven't heard anything about these. I had spotted it in a shop ages ago, but didn't pick it up. I've only tried it once, and be warned-you need the TINIEST bit. Otherwise you're looking more like Coco the Clown than a lovely flush. It's perfect for school, easily blend-able and you can build it up.

L'OREAL False Lash Telescopic mascara. Please, please, please tell me this isn't the one they are discontinuing. I don't think I could handle it. I fell in love after one swipe. Goodbye, Falsies. There's a new man(mascara?) in my life. I don't even need to double up with Maybelline Rocket Volume to get volume as well as length! Next on my list-Maybelline Big Eyes mascara.

Well, there's my naughty rather big haul finished! So tell me-is there anything you'd like me to review? Anything you want specifically in a look? What have you bought recently?
My next post you'll be looking into a different sort of bag of mine....stay tuned.

P.S.-I am now VERY broke, so I don't think there will be any hauls from me for awhile!

Peace, Love and cupcakes,
Clodagh xxxx

Top 10 Under £10

Hey guys I'm back with my second post in my two part series dedicated to trying to help you save money. Here I'm going to tell you about my ten most favourite drugstore products and even better they are all under £10.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I have mentioned this product soo many times so I don't think I need to say much more this product has been a staple in my kit for along time and I am yet to find anything better, I love this product for covering up those ghastly blemishes. I also repeat that I don't recommend this for under the eyes as I find it doesn't stay in that area even with that powder.

Beauty Blender
One of the best beauty tools to be invented( yes it's that good!)  it is absolutely fantastic at blending out foundation creating a flawless yet totally natural base. Another huge plus of a beauty blender is its shape makes it perfect for  blending  concealer under your eyes.  As I understand it it beauty blenders can be expensive  in the America but here in the UK I managed to obtain fine for £5.99.

Real Techniques Expert Facebrush
I received  this as a gift for Christmas and after having great experiences with real techniques face brushes( I have mixed opinions about their eye brushes) I couldn't wait to try it. And guess what? I wasn't disappointed ! It is now my new favourite even beating the buffing brush, it's just soo soft, cruelty free and just the right shape and density for applying my foundation. A must have!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer
These are products I don't think get enough love amongst the beauty community.  The colour pay of alone if enough to sell them to me, it is absolutely amazing and the staying power is good.  I just wish they have more colours. These are slightly on the sticker side so if you don't like that feeling I wouldn't recommend however I find this as an advantage as I believe a thicker consistency gives a plump and fuller look to the lips.
Maybelline Colour Tattoos
This product must definitely gets a lot of love and it's well deserved too. I think this is the best product maybelline has in fact I think it's the best product  going in the drugstore. Yes it's that good! My only compliant is there are only two neutral colours my favourite being on and on bronze, but the excellent texture, colour pay of and lasting power all for under £5 makes it absolutely perfect!

Maybelline Babylips
I waited a very long time for these to come to the UK and last summer it finally happened and I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed When I went into my locally superdrug and some them there I knew I had to have them so I picked up some of the colour versions , and may I just day the smell of these products is enough for me to fall in love with them but I will admit they are not as moisturising  as I had expected but other than that I love then!

Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow Flashback Silver
This is another product I received at Christmas and although it is a very simple shade it is still delightful and the packaging and formula are excellent and I can't wait to buy more from this range .

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
If any of you watch Tanya Burr which I'm sure you do you will no that this product works just as great  at setting your face as any of the most expensive high end brands . It's cheap and simple with the only downside being the packaging though I've never had any problems with mine.

Evil Queen From 'Once upon a Time' -Tutorial

Hey there Clodagh's new video is up, have you already seen it? Its part of our new series "Once Upon A Time Makeup Looks" so any of you who watch the TV shows might find this interesting.

5 Tips To Save Money On Cosmetics

Hey guys I come to you today bringing vital advice that no one really wants to think about but what everyone really needs to think about (did you get tongue twisted, I did). Lets face it, its no money month, the economy isn't doing great and the prices of make-up are soaring ever higher so we could all do with saving a few pennies so here I am willing to help. -GM
  1. Research
There are millions and I mean millions of products out there and with absolutely no guarantees of quality, how are we supposed to know what products are great and what products are just not worth your well earned pounds? And that's where the internet comes in, the unlimited supply of reviews, swatches, blog post and videos with all the information you need to know about your desired product, do not let this go to waste make sure the products you buy are worth it before you open your purse.  Another thing to remember is just because something costs £30 and another £10 doesn't mean the £30 is better sometimes "you get what you pay for" just ain't true there are many dupes out there of high end products so think twice before you go splurging.

    2. Have patience! Wait for the offers!
Superdrug and Boots are notorious for their 3 for 2 offers on cosmetics, at least every three months those signs appear on the window advertising those delicious offers and inside I feel my reserve crack and I must go in and have a look.So if your thinking of treating yourself have patience and wait till you get that tiny bit more for your money.

    3. Make a List
Its so easy to do it. To get distracted by the glittering packaging and the bright lights. And its not till you get home you think " When will I ever use this?" My advise is to make yourself a nice list of the things you need and the things you really wan't to get. That way when you go into the stores you know exactly what to get and you wont waste money on stuff you don't really care about.

    4. Shop Online
This is a simple one to explain, in my experience it is usually cheaper to purchase products online even with the added shipping cost, it also makes it so easy to compare the various prices in the comfort of your own home.

   5. Look out for the discount codes!
This links in with shopping online as the possibility of a discount code comes in to the question. Search about on the internet and on popular YouTube videos for discount codes for the various makeup sites.

So there you are, my tips on how to keep your pennies in your pocket, hopefully I can practice what I preach! Let me know your tips below. I will also have a top products under ten pounds up on Sunday so stay tuned.

Seven deadly sins of beauty tag!

Clodagh here with a cheeky little tag today! This is my 'Seven deadly sins of beauty' tag!

GREED- What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?- Hmm, my most inexpensive would probably be any of the Accessorize nail polishes, which are around £3, or the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, which is £4! My most expensive.....hmmm. That I myself have bought? Jo Malone perfume. The most expensive thing in my collection altogether would be the Naked 2.

WRATH- What beauty product do you have a love hate relationship with?- I'd have to say either the Maybelline Baby lips. I love the colour of Cherry Me, and the scent of them, but they don't moisturise my lips that well, and for me, the pink one doesn't work for me at all. I'd also have to say the Collection 24hr felt liner in Teal. I love the colour and it works like a dream, but it does. Not. Budge. I mean it. I washed my face and eyes three times after putting it on, and it was still on my eyes the WHOLE next day, after washing again!

GLUTTONY- What are your most delicious beauty products?- Does this mean smell wise? I'd have to say my L'Occitane Passionate Jasmine hand cream. It smells divine! Or my Jo Malone perfume in White Jasmine and Mint.

SLOTH- What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?- That would have to be primer. I'm terrible at remembering to put on primer.

PRIDE- What beauty product gives you the most confidence?- Hmmm, either a smudged eyeliner, like my Maybelline Master smokey eye pencil, or a berry lip, like MAC Craving.

LUST- What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?- Physically? Nice eyes. Being tall, good arms. A six pack doesn't hurt either. ;)

ENVY- What item would you most like to receive as a gift?- Too Faced Natural eye palette! I MUST HAVE IT.

That was my Seven deadly sins of beauty tag! What are your answers to the questions?

Peace, love and cupcakes,
Clodagh xx

Nail polishes-high street hits and misses!

Clodagh here, and today we're talking talons.
Oh yeah, you heard me.
As my friend likes to say 'kitty got claws!'
Yes she does, and she likes them to be nice!
Now, as much as I adore my Essie, and I'm aware it's available in Superdrug, sometimes you need a cheaper alternative. Having tried many-a-polish, I am here as your self-christened nail polish guru to tell you the highs and the lows of drugstore nail polishes!

Let's begin, shall we?

MAYBELLINE-
Maybelline Colour show nail polishes. They deserve a place on this list for the colour range alone. As a colour fanatic, I'm like a kid in a candy shop when I browse the Maybelline section. The pay off is good, you only need maybe two or three coats! THESE ARE A HIT!

Bourjois So Laque nail polishes- Having loved other Bourjois nail polishes I'll talk about, I had high hopes. Boy was I disappointed. I found the 'So Laque' range gloopy, running, and it took FOREVER to get a decent coverage. I was very disappointed, this is definitely a miss. It's a shame, the colours are gorgeous!-MISS.

Topshop Nails- I waited a VERY long time for these to hit my local Topshop. The rest of their makeup range isn't in
my store yet. As soon as they were out, I had a mosey around, already with colours in mind, thanks to Becca Rose. I picked up a few colours, and while their shade range is average, I had to put on too many coats for this to be a quick and easy nail polish. Sadly, this is a MISS.

Ahhhhh how I was excited about these. And I wasn't disappointed. I had to go to Superdrug about four times before the colour I was lusting after- blueberry- was in store, and even at that, it was the last one in store. The colour. The texture. THE THICKENESS. THE SMOOTHNESS. THE FAST DRYING. And most importantly of all for me, as I somehow manage to chip nails in the same day they're done-the staying power. I've since picked up two more of these babies, and I'm desperate to get my paws on more. Definitely a HIT.
Bourjois 1 Seconde- As soon I heard Anna from 'Viviannadoesmakeup' mention the words 'Turquoise Block' I was sold as she waved her blue-green clad fingers around. The colour. Is. Stunning. Whilst it doesn't dry in one second as the name would suggest, it is an extremely fast drying polish, which doesn't chip for at least three days. I'd also recommend the colours Blue no blues and Melon. Definitely a HIT!

Accessorize nail polish- This is definitely the underdog product. I NEVER hear anyone talk about these babies, and they really should be! Around three pound a pop, the shade range is unbelievable and you only need two coats. Worth taking a look? Definitely. GET GOING! THESE ARE A HIT!

So, what are your favourite high street nail polishes? What don't you like?

DISCLAIMER-All opinions on this post are my own. They do not mean they are Geraldine's, she may like or dislike different things. :)

Peace, love and cupcakes,
Clodagh xxxx
